Frequently Asked Questions

What parts of my body will be massaged?

You and your therapist will discuss the desired outcome of your session. This will determine which parts of your body require massage.

How much does a session cost (at Massage Therapeutic Arts)?

Partial massage session (example: neck, shoulders, back, legs and feet).

  • $30.00 for any 30-minute Session

Full-body massages (Back, arms, legs, feet, hands, neck, face and shoulders with extra attention added where needed).

  • $50.00 for any 60-minute Session
  • $75.00 for any 90-minute Session

Always allow relaxation time prior to and after the session.

Must I be completely undressed?

Most massage techniques are traditionally performed with the client unclothed; however, you may decide what amount of clothing you prefer to wear for your own comfort. You will be properly draped at all times to keep you warm and comfortable. Only the area being worked on will be exposed.

How will I feel after the Massage session?

Most people feel very relaxed. Some experience freedom from long-term aches and pains developed from tension or repetitive activity. After an initial period of feeling slowed down, people often experience increased energy, heightened awareness, and greater productivity, which can last for days. Since toxins are released from your soft tissues during a massage, it is recommended that you drink plenty of water following your massage.

Are there any medical conditions that would make Massage inadvisable?

Yes, that's why it's very important that before you begin your session, the therapist ask general health questions. It's very important that you inform the therapist of any health problems or medications you are taking.

How often should I get a Massage?

The average healthy adult should get a massage at least once a month.

What are the benefits of Massage Therapy?

The basic goal of massage therapy is to help the body heal itself and to increase health and well-being. Massage improves circulation, which increases blood flow, bringing fresh oxygen to body tissues. This can assist the elimination of waste products, speed healing after injury, and enhance recovery from disease.

Therapeutic massage can also be used to promote general well-being and enhance self-esteem, while boosting the circulatory and immune systems to benefit blood pressure, circulation, muscle tone, digestion, and skin tone.
